Open by design
Last revised October 2026
On WP FloorMap, the website, the domain and the design are yours, and you’re free to export the site and host it anywhere you like. The plugin and theme are licensed for as long as you subscribe, like the Engrain feed they read.
Why WordPress
Property websites tend to fail at one of two extremes.
At one extreme is the builder you rent monthly. Of course, it may start fast. But then a leasing manager asks for a floor-plan page with two columns instead of three, and the answer is a support ticket. When the contract ends, there’s seldom anything to carry out the door.
At the other is the one-off build. Our own studio developed several such sites, and when one is good, it’s beautiful, with every page considered and every margin argued over. Year two is perhaps where it turns. The developer who knew where everything lived has moved on, nobody dares touch the header and a new phone number has to be hunted for through a dozen templates before it’s correct everywhere.
WP FloorMap sits between these two extremes by design. The heavy machinery remains ours: availability, pricing, floor plans, tour scheduling and lead capture arrive from your Engrain SightMap® and your property data, and pages assemble from sections your team can reuse. Everything else stays with your team, because, underneath, it’s WordPress, which runs a sizeable share of the web. Edits happen in a screen your marketing people have probably met before. Changing the phone number once means it’s correct everywhere. In five years, a new developer will open this site and recognize what they find, and moving it to another host needs no permission from us. Fundamentally, we believe that your web presence, like your physical property, is yours to own and control, with us managing as much of it as you like beyond the build.
Your team can edit sites built on WP FloorMap in the WordPress editor that millions of other sites use.

What you own
Code
yours under the GPL
WordPress ships under the GPL, a license written so the permission cannot be taken back: run the software, read it, change it, keep it.
Content
yours
Pages, words, images and floor-plan media live in your site’s own database and media library. Export them with WordPress’s own tool whenever you like.
Domain
yours
Registered in your name and pointed wherever you like. We never hold the registration, so moving to another host never means changing your address.
Design
yours
Colors, typography and page layouts travel with your content and stay editable in the WordPress editor.
Studio custom work
yours on payment
Child themes and custom blocks we build for you on Studio are your intellectual property once the work is paid for.
The WP FloorMap plugin & theme
licensed while subscribed
These are the rented parts. They carry live SightMap and PMS data onto the page and, like the Engrain feed beneath them, are licensed for as long as you subscribe.
The proprietary alternative
The difference is most evident at the end of the relationship rather than at its beginning. You keep a whole WordPress site on the open standard behind much of the web, at a price you can read before you speak to anyone, with hosting included: Essentials, where we build and launch the site for one property and write its content, at $249 a month; Launch, where the site can hold up to 25 properties and we also make up to two hours of changes each month, from $374 a month; Studio, fully managed, from $749 a month, plus $2,500 setup. Availability, pricing and floor plans come directly from your PMS and Engrain SightMap. Accessibility and privacy are handled while the site is being built.
Already have a WordPress site you’d like to keep? We can integrate WP FloorMap into it. Talk to us.
Some proprietary multifamily builders are organized the other way around: the site lives inside their system, and the price arrives after a call.
If you leave
Cancelling doesn’t take down the site. The pages, the words, the images and the design are already in your WordPress install, where they stay. Export them with WordPress’s own tools or copy the install wholesale, and any WordPress host or developer can pick it up. Studio custom work is your intellectual property and stays yours. There’s no long-term contract and no exit fee. A cancellation made in the Subscriber Portal takes effect at the end of the billing cycle.
The live layer stops. WP FloorMap carries availability, pricing and floor plans from SightMap and your PMS onto the page, and when the subscription ends those live figures stop updating. Your pages, words, images and design keep rendering as they are. The Engrain feed underneath is a subscription of its own and behaves the same way. We’d rather you stay for the right reasons, so WP FloorMap has no digital handcuffs or feature gating that makes leaving impossible and restricts features based on subscription levels: all plans have the same features and gain new ones as WP FloorMap improves.
